Self Help Cooking and Guilt.

It is a HOT and humid day today and I have decided to blog about my life and cooking, Hey that woman from Julie and Julia did it and she does not even seem like a very nice person! I am a divorced woman,42, single, well dating but not happy about dating, I have been dating this man for a few years and I think that we will either die dating each other or break up! Actually, yesterday after a nice summer day at a beach down the Cape and a nice dinner at Baxter's watching the boats pull in and out like a Aquatic drive drive thru restaurant I realized that the man I am dating will always put work and his life before our own.

So I came home and went grocery shopping and started cooking, baking and figuring out what I could do to fill the time. I joined eharmony, out of desperation and made Jordan Marsh Blueberry muffins, 24 mini blueberry pies and went on line find a good lobster recipe that I could serve to my parents. They seem to reap the brunt or benefits of my Self Help Cooking and I do not eat all the food that I cook and pack on the unwanted pounds if I am going to start dating again at 42!

Tonight's pity party meal is Lobster Fra Diablo with linguine and a tomato salad, along with all the blueberry baked goods that I made. I do have to say that slicing or wielding the knife cutting the lobster in half was strangely great stress release! Although I did have a moment of self hatred when I realized I had to slice the lobster in half as it was still alive. But the Boiling Chopping the smell of garlic sauteing for some odd reason makes me happy! Seeing the Blueberry muffins come out nice and brown and perfect, Well 5 of the 12 came out perfect the other were somewhat flat but still taste good! Ad I have to say the mini blueberry pies are great, brushed with egg makes them the perfect shade of brown. I use the mini muffin pan, If you are more of a crust person and less of a fruit filling person this is the perfect " hit the spot" dessert for you. I use a small biscuit cutter for the top of the pie and the medium biscuit cutter for the bottoms it works great, the blueberries mixed with sugar and flower and a bit of lemon, ta daa... perfect!

The Fra diablo was a bit more time consuming, but worth it, the sauce is mouth watering. Emeril sure knows how to comfort a broken heart.!

Well it is getting late and the kids will be home soon from the weekend at their fathers.
Thanks for reading, I am sure I will get better at this as time goes by.

I will list links to the recipies that I use at the end of each blog!
